Welcome to the
Clarendon Orchestra website.
The Orchestra was set up in 1983
and included Watford School of Music Youth
Orchestra members, ex-members and guest players most of whom were
professional or studying music full time.
The Orchestra was
conducted by Adrian Leaper who was the
resident conductor at The WSM. Under his baton the group has
performed Mahler Symphonies 1 and 3, The
Planets by Holst and Rite of Spring by
Stravinsky. At its largest, the Orchestra was 130 strong. The
orchestra stopped performing in 1987. Thanks to the inspiration
of Bill Pamplin and the efforts a few of the ex-members, the
orchestra reformed in 2004.
